CRUISE is a 13-3/4" black male who is very similar to his brother Moosie, but he is a more elegant version, with an attitude. He will be Katie's next agility dog as soon as he is old enough, and he is much like "Grampa" Peter in that he does everything full speed ahead! Cruise now has his first two points toward his championship, and has matured nicely into a dog with bone and substance and a great coat.

Cruise completed his first agility title on Nov. 15, 2009, when he got the final leg for his CPE CL1-F title. Hard to believe that two weeks earlier in the same arena, he spent a fair amount of time between obstacles sniffing the intoxicating smells in the dirt and visiting just about everyone in the ring, including the photographer! This day Cruise ran a 14-obstacle jumpers course, with not a single sniff or poop-eating incident. (Ummm, don't ask! Okay, it was in a horse barn.) Obviously, he didn't miss a single obstacle, and was totally fault-free!
Katie said: "I told someone I must've been PMS-ing, 'cuz I was so emotional after that run. It seemed like the impossible became possible, and I had a glimpse of our future. As I ran, I heard a voice in my head saying, 'He's still with me, he's still running!' I forgot two front crosses I had planned, the voice was so loud! We ended up going 3.9 YPS, so not bad for his first real completed course.... if only I hadn't gotten in his way so much. The reason we had two 'oopsies' was when I attempted to rear cross where I had planned the forgotten front crosses in both spots instead. After the blue tunnel is the "Bermuda Triangle"... huge chunks of (what Cruise calls) lovely horse poop. I was just *positive* he was going to go and sniff after that blue tunnel. As he came out and headed right for the double, I was grinning. After watching the video, I see I'm babysitting the tunnel entries way too much, but that won't last much longer. His focus isn't there yet, and we need lots of work on directionals.... but I can't wait to see what's next! He seemed to really get into this run. I think he was wanting more than only two runs today...."
On Oct. 30, 2011, Cruise took a "rest" from agility and participated in his first Coursing Ability Tests through the Greater Twin Cities Afghan Hound Club. He wasn't successful in his first run, but in his second run that day, he qualified on the 600-yard course with a time of 1.0956 minutes, running 9.1 YPS, for his first CA leg!
